Whenever I feel anxious, I take my diary and write down everything that crosses my mind. It helps me to organize my thoughts and find possible solutions to my problems.

Journaling came naturally when I was the most anxious in my life and was struggling with anxiety disorder. I needed a way to tell someone how I felt.

Journaling is similar to venting to your friend, but the difference is that you can tell everything this way, and no one will judge you.

I am not suggesting replacing talking to your best friend with journaling, but if you do both, it can significantly impact your life and reduce stress.

How do I do it

Journaling is a great way to brainstorm and explore ways to deal with challenging experiences. I start with a thought that first comes to my head. It’s usually something that bothers me the most. I continue pointing out current problems and finding possible solutions.

Sometimes it’s only one page, and sometimes three or four pages long, but it doesn’t matter. I write as long as I need it and stop when I think there is nothing more to say.
